Before your appointment
- Check your appointment location and whether your visit is in person or by telephone.
- Think about the concerns and questions you want to discuss, and the activities you hope to return to.
- Let the clinic know about any access needs when arranging your visit.
What to bring
Follow any preparation instructions the clinic gives you. Do not change your medications unless your treating clinician advises you to.
- Your BC driver’s licence or BC Services Card, and your personal health number.
- Relevant imaging reports that the clinic may not already have.
- A pair of shorts if you are being assessed for a lower limb issue.
Booking and referrals
Use our Cortico online booking system for family and walk-in appointments at Rock Point. Walk-in care is open to everyone, with limited capacity, including in-person, virtual and telephone visits. Family practice is for existing patients and is not accepting new patients.
Sports medicine referrals remain open at both clinics. Ask your family doctor or GP to send a referral. We review it first, then contact you directly to arrange an appointment. The current estimated wait is 3 to 6 weeks, updated October 2, 2026 and subject to change.
Contact details and reminders
Please make sure we have your current telephone number and email address so we can reach you about your care. We use Cortico for booking and automated reminders by phone, text message and/or email.
Keep a record of your appointment location and visit type, as a reminder may not include every detail. Call the clinic if anything is unclear or your contact information changes.
Telephone follow-ups
Your assigned telephone appointment time is approximate. We will usually call within 1 to 2 hours of that time. Please keep your phone available and make sure we have the correct number.
Changing or cancelling an appointment
If your plans change, please contact your clinic at least 24 hours before your appointment. This gives another patient the opportunity to use the time.
- Missed or late-cancelled Chilliwack family and walk-in appointments
- $100
- Missed or late-cancelled sports medicine consultations at either clinic
- $200
- Missed or late-cancelled sports medicine follow-ups
- $150
Insurance, coverage and payment
We do not directly bill third parties, including extended health providers and insurance companies. You will need to arrange any reimbursement with your provider.
BC residents
You need valid BC MSP coverage for care billed to the Medical Services Plan. Some services and medications are not covered by MSP and may be covered by your extended health benefits, depending on your plan. Ask about any costs before treatment and check with your insurer.
Out-of-province patients
Out-of-province patients are welcome. We collect a small deposit and refund it once your provincial health system pays for the visit. Please contact the clinic about the arrangements before booking.
Out-of-country patients
Out-of-country patients may be seen on a private-pay basis.
Patient handouts
Read the handout that relates to your care and follow any instructions your treating clinician gives you. If something is unclear or your instructions differ from a handout, call the clinic so we can help.

Frequently asked questions
What if I cannot use online booking?
Call Rock Point to arrange a family or walk-in appointment. Online booking is for family and walk-in patients only; sports medicine appointments are arranged after a referral is reviewed.
How do I request a prescription refill?
Call the clinic to arrange a telephone appointment, or ask your pharmacy to send a refill request. If you may run out before you can speak with Dr. Chhina, ask your pharmacy whether an emergency supply is available.
Can the office explain my test results?
Clinic staff can confirm whether results have arrived, but cannot interpret them. Ask to book a telephone or in-person appointment with Dr. Chhina if you want to discuss a result.
Where can I find my appointment details?
Check your appointment message for the date, time and location. If you cannot find it, check your email’s junk or spam folder, then call the clinic for help.
Questions after your visit
Call the clinic where you were seen if you have questions about your appointment or next steps. If you need to send records, ask the clinic how to share them securely.
